About Us

First 5 Mendocino focuses on supporting families from pregnancy through the age of 5.

Why the first 5 years?

Kid’s brains and bodies grow so much in the first 5 years. And these years can go fast!

What happens in the first 5 years can set a child up to:

  • best cope with stress
  • focus their attention
  • regulate their emotions
  • plan for the future
  • and have empathy for others.

We want to help make it easier for families to have what they need so kids grow up strong.

When children are raised in a well-resourced family and community, early experiences interact with genetics to make the best chances for them to thrive, first in school and then in life.

We’re here to help build and connect the community and resources that support families.
